Watch Betty White SNL Mother's Day Special

88-year-old comedic actress Betty White hosted Saturday Night Live last night for the show's Mother’s Day special, realizing the dreams of more than 500000 Facebook users whom she both thank and ridiculed.

In her SNL monologue, the Golden Girl commented: “I really have to thank Facebook … I didn’t know what Facebook was, and now that I do know what it is, I have to say, it sounds like a huge waste of time. I would never say the people on it are losers, but that’s only because I’m polite. People say ‘But Betty, Facebook is a great way to connect with old friends.’ Well at my age, if I wanna connect with old friends, I need a Ouija Board. Needless to say, we didn’t have Facebook when I was growing up. We had phonebook, but you wouldn’t waste an afternoon with it.”

Last night was a reunion of sorts for SNL alumnae, bringing back former regulars including Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon. Hip-hop artist Jay-Z was musical guest.

The episode also gathered SNL its highest overnight ratings in 18 months.

Watch Betty White SNL gig that managed to hold an 8.8 household rating, the show's highest since the 2008 episode that preceded the presidential election.
